In Memory of

Jane Melvin
Haywood County Paramedic
December 15, 1958-March 7, 2002

During her cancer-shortened lifetime, Frances Jane Melvin touched many lives. She always had a beautiful smile, and a kind word, no matter what the circumstances. Her efficient manner while performing as a paramedic for Haywood County EMS and Haywood County Rescue Squad has helped to calm numerous panicked and scared patients. Jane was always willing to help others, both in a professional and personal capacity. Although Jane has left us, her family wishes to continue with her tradition of helping other by requesting that donations and memorials in her name be made to the Haywood County Rescue Squad, PO Box 931, Waynesville, NC  28786.

Breast cancer remains a thief, which steals some of our best and our brightest folks. We encourage everyone to reflect for a moment on the impact this disease has had on us individually, and as an organization. Please support research and treatment efforts in any way possible, in the hope that we will all witness the end of this terrible disease!
