October FOOD DRIVE to benefit Holy Comforter Food Pantry
Middle School and Lower School classrooms will begin collecting non-perishable food items on Tuesday October 17th and donations will be gathered and delivered to the Food Pantry on Friday October 27th.
Did you know that the Holy Comforter Food Pantry is the second largest Food Bank in Tallahassee? We are a Second Harvest distribution site and we are open Saturdays from 9am to 11am. We are closed the 5th Saturday of every month.
As you prepare to give remember this:
We’re always in need of the “super six” items: canned fruits, vegetables, canned meats (tuna, chicken), cereal, hearty soup/stew, peanut butter. We would ask that you not give industrial sized or bulk sized items
Food insecurity is a lack of consistent access to enough safe, nutritious and socially acceptable food for an active, healthy and productive life. It can be cyclical, or episodic - assocIated with a crisis like COVID-19. Food Insecurity is at 9.9% in the state of Florida. This means that almost 10% of households do not have enough food on a regular basis.
II Corinthians 9:11-12 "You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God."
