Technology

Lower School

Technology in Holy Comforter lower school begins with iPads during center time in Kindergarten and ends with a powerful Mac laptop in fifth grade.  Students are gradually introduced to technology in age appropriate ways while teachers are able to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of individual students.

Students are assigned a device beginning in first grade.  For first and second grade, those devices are iPads.  In third grade students move to MacBook Pro laptops.  The availability of technology at Holy Comforter allows tablets and computers to be used as learning tools, not as curriculum. Technology skills are learned in the same way students learn to use the library, in the pursuit of traditional studies.  By the fifth grade, students have become comfortable with the tools and skills they will master when they move on to Holy Comforter middle school.
