HCES Hosts STEM Saturday for the Tallahassee Community

Holy Comforter Episcopal School hosted the fourth annual outreach event for the Tallahassee community – STEM Saturday. This event is FREE and welcomed families with students in grades K-8 to participate in a fun day of hands-on, interactive science experiences, gaining a glimpse of our unique STEM program. The classes were taught by Holy Comforter Episcopal School teachers. On Saturday, January 28th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, elementary students and their parents participated in sessions focusing on one core science concept. The classes paralleled what Holy Comforter students are doing each day in the STEM lab. In addition, special demonstrations were available on campus during the day including a flight simulator from Coaxis International, the Sea Mobile Marine Life Educational Program and Traveling Aquarium from Gulf Specimen Marine Lab as well as other interactive demonstrations from MoLab, the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory and CopyFax 2000.

This year’s STEM Saturday registration filled quickly, most within the 1st day of registration opening. Over 130 students from 28 area schools attended the event.
