At Holy Comforter, we provide an education that prepares students to make a difference in their community by nourishing the spirit, challenging the mind, and strengthening the body in a Christian environment.  Below are listed the traits and skills that have been instilled in a Holy Comforter graduate upon graduation.
Without the expectations of a specific high school, our graduates are confidently prepared to succeed in every school across our community. In addition, being “at the top” allows our 8th graders to take on roles and opportunities that set them up to be leaders.

Senior Alumni Class Accomplishments | HCES Class of 2018, Senior Class of 2022

Holy Comforter's 8th grade class of 2018 graduated from 10 different local high schools (Leon, Lincoln, Chiles, Maclay, North Florida Christian, Florida High, Aucilla Christian Academy, SAIL High School, Florida Virtual School and St. John Paul II Catholic), as well as from two other schools throughout Florida. Although information is still coming to us about scholarships and awards that they have received, we are so proud of their accomplishments that we couldn't wait to share them with you.
 
Individual Achievements of Note:
 
Anna Becker (NFC) was nominated for consideration for the Best & Brightest Award in the Science and Health category. Anna graduated from North Florida Christian High School and will attend Berry College in the fall.

Mercy Crapps (Maclay) was nominated for consideration for the Best & Brightest Award in the Career/Technical category. Mercy graduated with High Honors from Maclay High School and will attend Clemson University in the fall, where she will be part of the Honors Program.
 
Aaliyah Davis (Leon) was recognized with an honorable mention for the Best & Brightest Award in the Science and Health category. Aaliyah graduated Summa Cum Laude from Leon High School and will attend the University of Miami in the fall.
 
Grace Dennig (Leon) was nominated for consideration for the Best & Brightest Award in the Leadership category. Grace graduated Summa Cum Laude from Leon High School and will attend Florida State University in the fall where she will be part of the Honors Program.
 
Mackenzie Jackson (Maclay) was nominated for consideration for the Best & Brightest Award in the Music category. Mackenzie graduated with Honors from Maclay High School and will attend Florida State University in the fall.
 
Kate Krizner (Maclay) was the winner for the Best & Brightest Award in the English and Language Arts category. Kate graduated with High Honors from Maclay High School and will attend Vanderbilt University in the fall, where she will be part of the Honors Program.
 
Brian McNulty (Lincoln) was recognized as runner-up for the Best & Brightest Award in the Technology category. Brian graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lincoln High School and will attend the University of Michigan in the fall.
 
Sibley Shippen (Leon) was recognized as runner-up for the Best & Brightest Award in the Drama and Performing Arts category. Sibley graduated with Honors from Leon High School and plans to attend Florida State University in the fall.
 
Kate Smith (Maclay) was nominated for consideration for the Best & Brightest Award in the Social Science category. Kate graduated with High Honors from Maclay High School and will attend the University of Georgia in the fall, where she will be part of the Honors Program.
 
Sara Caulley Soto (Maclay) was the winner for the Best & Brightest Award in the Art category. Sara Caulley graduated with High Honors from Maclay High School and plans to attend Johns Hopkins University in the fall.
 
Ben Sturgis-Watts (Leon) was nominated for consideration for the Best & Brightest Award in the Mathematics category. Ben graduated Summa Cum Laude from Leon High School and will attend the University of Florida.
 
Shelby Watson (Maclay) was the winner for the Best & Brightest Award in the Drama and Performing Arts category. Shelby graduated with High Honors from Maclay High School and plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall, where she will be part of the Honors Program.
 
Madeline Jordan (Aucilla Christian Academy) is a nationally recognized equestrian champion who signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Baylor University and will compete for their equestrian team in the fall.
 
Ryan J. McKee (Lawton Chiles High School) will attend the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. 

Jade Livingston (Douglas Anderson School of Arts) was recognized by the Tony Awards for her performance as the lead in the FAMU production of “Sweet Mama Stringbean” in September of 2021.
 
Stella Grace Watts (Chiles) signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Alabama and will swim for the Crimson Tide in the fall.
 
Statistics by School:
  • Leon High School had 30 of our graduates: 9 Summa Cum Laude, 4 Magna Cum Laude, 4 Cum Laude, 4 with Honors and 7 with Distinction.
  • Lincoln High School had 7 of our graduates: 1 Summa Cum Laude, 1 Magna Cum Laude, 1 Cum Laude.
  • Chiles High School had 3 of our graduates: 1 Summa Cum Laude and 1 Commended Scholar.
  • Maclay School had 14 of our graduates: 5 with High Honors and 6 with Honors.
  • Florida State University School had 1 of our graduates, who graduated Summa Cum Laude.
  • Aucilla Christian Academy had 1 of our graduates, who graduated Cum Laude.
  • Florida Virtual School in Leon County had 1 of our graduates, who graduated with Honors.
  • North Florida Christian had 2 of our graduates.
  • Saint John Paul II had 1 of our graduates.
  • SAIL High School had 1 of our graduates.
  • Douglas Anderson School of Arts in Jacksonville, FL had 1 of our graduates, who graduated with Honors.
  • Indian River Charter High School in Vero Beach, FL had 1 of our graduates, who graduated with Honors.

Our graduates call Holy Comforter home. Our alumni enter high school prepared and confident for the next challenges that await them. The high school Class of 2018 boasted 77% graduating with honors from their school, including a valedictorian. But during their HCES reunion on campus last spring, the class wanted to swing on the playground and sing songs in chapel. They wanted to write well wishes on the whiteboard of their favorite teachers and visit their old locker. On this campus, they felt childlike again, safe and secure, known and loved. We invite all of our alumni back home again, where, even for a moment, they can re-capture what it feels like to be a part of “Holy Comfortable.”

  • Alumna Kirsten Huffer was selected as a 2018 Fulbright Scholar.

  • Overall, 77% of the High School graduates who attended Holy Comforter graduated with honors from their respective high schools.

  • Alumna Jane Darby Menton was named a 2015 Rhodes Scholar.
