Presiding Bishop Michael Curry to Visit - Limited Seating Available
We are excited to announce that the Most Reverend Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States, will be visiting Holy Comforter Episcopal School on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. He will be delivering a message to all of our students at the Center Court Chapel service in the Student Center at 10:30 a.m.
Registration to attend the chapel service will close Thursday, January 31st. You must be logged into the website to register. You may only register for yourself and your spouse.
This event is closed and will ONLY be open to students, faculty and parents of current HCES students.
Parents will not be able to sit with their child during the service, but we will have seating in the bleachers for all visitors.
Due to space constraints and safety, we have only 40 spots still available and spots will be reserved in the order registrations are received.
Once you secure your spot, if you are not already registered in our School Gate Guardian system, you will need to bring your driver's license to the administration office to register PRIOR to February 4th. (You will receive a confirmation once you are registered.)
Once the allotted spaces are reserved, we will begin a waitlist. There will be overflow seating in the church with a live stream of the chapel service. You do not have to pre-register to attend the live feed in the church.
In the event that we receive cancellations, we will contact the waitlist in the order registrations were received.
Again, this event is NOT open to the public. Please contact Holly Wilbourn if you have questions or concerns about registration. She may be reached at 850-383-1007 or hwilbourn@hces.org.
Bishop Curry is most recently known as the ‘wedding preacher’ from the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (May 2018) and also the Celebrant at the Funeral of former President George H.W. Bush (December 2018). The Presiding Bishop is the author of several books, including the recently released “The Power of Love.” His ministry is marked by the call of the Episcopal Church and for all people to join the “Jesus Movement.”
We are incredibly honored to host Bishop Curry at Holy Comforter Episcopal School! If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Mother Beth, our Chaplain at motherbeth@hces.org.
