Support HCES

Creating a Culture a Giving

Holy Comforter Episcopal School has been strengthened by the generosity of its community, and we are deeply grateful for your interest and support. There are many ways that parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees, parents of alumni, and friends can take an active role in supporting the School's mission and creating the best possible educational environment for all of our students and faculty.

Through coordinated fundraising efforts and special events, we offer a variety of meaningful ways to positively impact the education of our students. Making an investment in HCES is one of the most meaningful ways you can make a difference. Impact today with a gift to our Annual Fund, and make a difference tomorrow through a gift to the capital campaign.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund provides essential, unrestricted support to our operating budget, impacting every student every day. Annual giving dollars allow our school to be nimble and responsive to changing needs and demands. A gift to the Annual Fund enriches the experience for all students and teachers, providing expanded student programs in academics, arts, and athletics, professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, as well as support for classroom enhancements and technology.

100% of Funds raised increase support, Classroom Enhancements, Fine Arts, Technology, Athletics, Professional Development and more. You can support the Annual Fund through a personal gift or through our corporate sponsorship program.

Holy Comforter’s Annual Fund impacts EVERY student, EVERY day.
Supporting HCES ensures that those things we value most - small class size, cutting edge technology, dedicated faculty, first class facilities and a nurturing, loving community - will be continued.
As we approach 70 years as a school community, join us as we celebrate this milestone in our school's history.

Capital Campaigns

Capital campaigns are fundraising efforts that allow us to make additions and upgrades to our beautiful campus and plan for the future. Capital Campaign V (also known as CCV) began with the vision of completing the colonnade with the addition of The Commons, our dining hall and performing arts center. While construction was completed in February of 2020, the campaign continues.

The 70th Anniversary Capital Campaign launched in the 2024-2025 school year - a nod to past donors and now to the future. The 70th Anniversary campaign offers opportunities to support the new track and infrastructure needed to complete the project, as well as The Commons Building - a building used by every child, every day for lunch and performing and classroom space.

The course of our school’s history was significantly impacted when we purchased the initial 40 acres used to move our campus to Fleischmann Road in 1997 and built the first buildings on that site – Smith Hall and Hill Hall.

Leave Your Mark

Perpetual Naming opportunities are a great way to honor your family and their time here at HCES. There are many naming opportunities across campus from columns to classroom plaques, outdoor chapel pews, buildings, athletic facilities and more.

Purchasing a naming opportunity for your Holy Comforter alumnus or grandchild makes a great gift at any point in the year. This has become one of HCES’ treasured traditions and a source of pride for all alumni to come back to campus to see.

Holy Comforter has laid such a great foundation for our children’s lives. Dedicating our column was a great way for our family to express our gratitude to HCES.

Endowment

An endowment gift is a permanent source of income for Holy Comforter Episcopal School, as it is the gift that keeps on giving. Endowment funds are invested to earn annual earnings rather than being spent immediately. Currently, Holy Comforter is reinvesting earnings that these gifts generate to grow the endowment and yield more earnings for future scholarships and support.

Holy Comforter welcomes contributions and/or pledges of any amount to the Brett F. Ewing Endowment for the Advancement of HCES. Named or designated funds may be established for any reason for any approved purpose with a gift of $25,000 or more. A named endowment fund can be created in your own name or in the name of a parent, spouse, teacher, friend or other loved one. You can do this at any point in your life using cash, securities or real estate, or you can arrange for the fund to be established through an irrevocable planned gift or a bequest in your will.
A strong endowment will enable Holy Comforter to better serve our community, knowing that permanent resources are available for tuition assistance, faculty advancement and new initiatives. By contributing to or establishing a named endowment fund, you can make a permanent gift to HCES that will continue to benefit our students in perpetuity.
If you are interested in contributing to the HCES Endowment Fund or creating a new one, please contact our Director of Advancement Ida Thompson at 850-383-1007 or email her by clicking here.

Special Events

Each year, the Advancement Office hosts two fundraising events. In the fall, the Crusader Cup Golf Tournament welcomes 90+ golfers in support of our athletic program. In the Spring, our annual Gala welcomes over 350 guests for the best party in town in support of HCES.

A Culture of Philanthropy

We have a longstanding culture of philanthropy that enables us to serve our students and teachers well. For almost 70 years, the extraordinary generosity and commitment of our parents, alumni, and school community have enabled us to grow and sustain our ability to offer excellence in education.
