This year we are excited to present a new offering in our Athletic Program. As an expansion of our “club teams,” Campus Recreation has been created to provide the chance to play sports in a non-competitive environment.
A major part in living a healthy, active lifestyle is being able to play in a stress-free setting. Our Campus Recreation Program provides students not participating in a competitive sport the opportunity to get outside and play recreational games focusing on one thing: staying active.
We are offering Campus Rec to any 4th-8th grade student who wants to participate. Each meeting will be on Monday afternoon throughout the semester from 3:15 - 4:30/5:00 (on campus sports - 4:30, off campus sports - 5:00). Five different recreational sports will be offered, and change every three weeks.
Campus Rec will be led by Middle School Teachers Lance Davis and TJ Picinic. Registration fees vary per sport, and students can choose to participate in as many sports as they want throughout the semester.
Off campus sports (bowling, rock climbing, and kayaking/hiking) will end at 5:00. Mr. Davis and Coach Picinc will be driving students in the HCES small bus to their location, and will return to school in the small bus as well.
Archery: 1/30, 2/6, 2/13 - on campus Bowling: 2/20, 2/27, 3/6 - off campus (Capital Lanes) Rock Climbing: 3/20, 3/27, 4/3 - off campus (Tallahassee Rock Gym) Kayaking/Hiking: 4/10, 4/17, 4/24 - off campus (Miccosukee Greenway/Maclay Gardens) Mountain Biking: 5/1, 5/8, 5/15 - on campus
