Athletic Banquet Recap

On Tuesday, April 16, we celebrated the culmination of the HCES athletic year with an incredible evening of fellowship and awards at the annual banquet. Over 400 students and their families attended as we recognized 147 middle school student-athletes for their hard work this year across 12 sports in Crusader Athletics. Awards were given for each sport and two 8th grade students, Nicky Fiore and Bailey Dyle spoke, reflecting on their time as Crusader athletes. The final award of the night, given to a male and female 8th grader, is the Timothy award.

The origins of the Timothy Award can be traced to the Book of 1 Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 12. The Timothy Award is the highest honor that is given from our Crusader Athletic Department.  It requires the nomination and support of faculty members, and is voted on by our entire middle school student body.  The Timothy Award is given annually to one male athlete and one female athlete who exhibit the qualities which the Apostle Paul witnessed from his young protege Saint Timothy of Ephesus.

In spite of their youth, these Crusaders represent themselves, their families, their school and their teams in a positive way through their actions, their words, and their sportsmanship.

Male Winner: Caleb Knipple
Female Winner: Harper McKee

Thank you to everyone involved in putting together an unforgettable night for our student-athletes and their families, including our banquet chair, Colby Lindsay, and co-chair Katherine Boland!  Thank you to all the parents and coaches for their time and effort each day on and off the fields. Go Crusaders!
