About the Plan
In the spring of 2015, Holy Comforter Episcopal School contracted with Elliott Marshall Innes, PA and Moore Bass Consulting, Inc. to conduct an internal survey of faculty and parents to ascertain what were the critical facility needs of the school. Based on their findings, Elliott Marshall Innes, PA commenced with updated campus master plan. The plan has been subdivided into three phases to coordinate with the school's next capital campaign goals.
Phase 1 - A Fine Arts Facility addition to the campus
Part A of phase 1 features an addition to the Student Center to increase music and art classes, allowing the school to remove the final portables that currently house these classes. Where the portables currently sit, Part B of phase 1 features the construction of the last major building in the current courtyard colonnade. This building will be mainly a cafeteria/auditorium space along with additional classroom and meeting rooms. Our school family felt that this was the most crucial remaining piece of our PK3-8th grade program. The addition of this space will alleviate the schedule of the Student Center as well as give our students a safe inside environment to have lunch.
Additional plans in this phase include the establishment of an outdoor pavilion on the cross country course and a paved road behind the church and new building. It is our hope that this phase of the master plan will be completed, contingent on meeting our fundraising goals, by August 2018.
Phase 2 - An Athletic Facility addition to the campus
This phase will focus on the development of the southeastern corner of the property with the completion of our athletic facilities for a PK3-8 campus. It will feature a new field for soccer/lacrosse complete with a track and field house. Additional parking will also be located there. This development requires the school to install a large retention pond in its northeast corner for water runoff. This phase also features a PK building if one is so warranted at that time, based on enrollment.
