The students, faculty and staff of Holy Comforter Episcopal School opened their hearts this holiday season. The school sponsored 36 children through the Guardian Ad Litem program in which to provide a Christmas full of gifts. Each class sponsored a child and students, with their families, brought in gender specific clothes, toys and other necessities. The Guardian Ad Litem children ranged in age from a few months old to teenage years.
This has become the annual Christmas outreach program for Holy Comforter, as the school has been associated with Guardian Ad Litem through Child Advocate II since 2002.
On Friday, December 11th, members of the Holy Comforter student council gathered the gifts from each classroom and set them out front around our Christmas tree for pick-up. The site was a mound of bags, bikes, games and more, full of goodies for local children. Guardian Ad Litem will wrap the presents and deliver them to the foster families before Christmas.
