We know one of the core values of an HCES education is our commitment and service to others. Over the years, as a school, we have established many successful outreach opportunities to support those in need in our local community. From our canned food drives to Guardian ad Litem and more, we have partnered with local organizations to fulfill needs in our community.
Last year, members of the HCES Community Enrichment & Innovation Committee established a community volunteer program to give our families a few opportunities to give back together, “spreading the love through Tallahassee.” We kicked off the program in June of last year by partnering with A Full Summer, an organization that feeds local children who are food insecure during the summer months when meals are not available through their schools.
We are offering the opportunity once again! We will be packing nutritious snacks as a team and Second Harvest will be on-site to distribute the snacks to the agencies throughout the summer. Here’s how you can get involved:
A Full Summer
Saturday, June 3, 2023, 10:00am until 12:00pm in the Godby High School cafeteria
1. Be part of one of the 2, 10-person HCES teams at the event, a 2-hour time commitment. TEAMS ARE FULL
OR
2. Donate money towards our $1000 contribution requirement. (We have raised $250 of our $1000 goal)
In addition, when you volunteer on behalf of the school, you will receive a t-shirt to wear that displays our Community Volunteer logo!
We hope you will join us in supporting A Full Summer on June 3. And we look forward to sharing more opportunities in the fall as we work side-by-side to spread the HCES love through Tallahassee!
Sincerely,
HCES Community Enrichment & Innovation Committee
