The Bridge Strategic Plan

We believe each child is a unique creation of God and it is our role to nourish the sprit, challenge the mind, and strengthen the body of each student so they are inspired to be the difference in our world.

Our Strategic Plan:

The Bridge

Every five years, HCES works to establish a strategic plan with long-term goals for the future. During the 2021-2022 school year, HCES embarked on a 10-month strategic planning process with the intention of engaging all facets of our school community and an opportunity for all constituents to participate. Throughout the 2021 school year, all stakeholders participated in various workshops and activities to update the HCES Mission, Vision and develop Core Values culminating in “The Bridge.”
All school Stakeholders were involved in all aspects of The Bridge, from conceptualization to the Plan On a Page. The HCES Strategic Planning Committee consisted of school administrators, school chaplain, parents, faculty and staff, and alumni. The Administrative Team, Faculty and Staff, Parents and Trustees participated in Core Values exercises facilitated by Christina Drouin. Each constituency also completed a survey tailored to their specific group and all had the opportunity to participate in Visioning Day. These events provided many interactive opportunities for stakeholders to participate and have a voice in The Bridge. Once the Plan On a Page was developed, the Bridge Builders (Administrators) went back to work developing initiatives to build The Bridge, creating goals and a timeline for construction. The Bridge Builders meet bi-monthly to review the status of the initiatives and to report on the work of the Initiative Owners (teachers and staff) who are driving the action steps.

Intended to be a fluid Strategic Plan, The Bridge was designed to be completed over a 5-year span with each year bringing a different set of initiatives to be implemented. Every initiative is categorized as Open, In Progress, Completed, Completed with Variance or Completed & Ongoing. Of the 32 Initiatives named in year 1, sixteen were listed as “completed and ongoing”, ten were “in progress”, two as “ongoing” and four as “open”. Year 2 Initiatives were examined and evaluated and categorized as well and now in year three of The Bridge, we continue to evaluate and implement initiatives. Our Bridge Builders have enjoyed the process of reviewing and updating initiatives as we go and the only challenge that has presented itself so far is that there seem to be so many good ideas, it can sometimes be difficult to prioritize and move one initiative over another.
